Rod Malloch
I am a qualified Architect and run my own practice. Alongside this I studied art with the Centre for Continuing Studies at Edinburgh College of Art and more recently with the Centre for Open Learning at the University of Edinburgh where I gained a Certificate of Education. Currently I am winding down my architectural practice with a view of spending more time on art.
In recent years I have been doing mostly landscape drawing and painting, some of which were then developed into abstract images. Most recently I have been using oil paint and cold wax medium to form an impasto surface with the application of texture. I have 6 abstract pieces on show at the current exhibition. I have also done collaborative pieces with Kirstine Drysdale where we add alternate layers to a painting until we agree they are finished. Some of these pieces are also on show in the exhibition.
